Temporary Food Establishments

A Temporary Food Establishment (TFE) permit is required to sell food at any public event (e.g., fair, market, festival).

An application must be completed by both the vendor and the event organizer. 

  • TFE Application and TFE Organizer Applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the event start date. Applications submitted less than 15 days before the event will be denied approval to operate.
  • Applications can be emailed to EnvHealth@HendersonCountyNC.gov.
  • A fee of $75.00 is required for each TFE application and must be paid when submitted.
  • TFE applications will not be considered “complete” until the TFE Organizer Application is received from the event organizer/organization.

An inspection will be conducted during the event to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
