What You Need to Know
- We will not refuse you clinical services if you are unable to pay.
- For clinical services, you may apply for a sliding scale fee based on your income.
- We do not discriminate. Please read our policy.

On the second Wednesday of each month, we are closed in the morning for training.

- Call any day, Monday - Friday, starting at 8:00 am. On the second Wednesday of each month, we start accepting calls for appointments at 11:00 am. Please note that we do not offer adult health primary care or employment physical exams.
- Your phone calls are answered in the order they are received. Please do not hang up. When you call again, you will go to the back of the line.
- Appointments are made for the day that you want to be seen. We have a limited number of appointments so the earlier you call the better your chances are of getting an appointment.
- If you walk in without an appointment, you will be asked to use our telephone to make an appointment. This assures that everyone is able to make an appointment in the order that they call. If an appointment is not available, please ask to speak to a triage nurse.
- Please come at the scheduled time. If you arrive late, we may have to reschedule your appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call ahead to cancel.
Free Pregnancy Tests
Pregnancy testing is offered for free by appointment only. Tests are available Monday-Friday. Please call 828-692-4223, option 3 to schedule an appointment.
Fees & Insurance
Cash, check, and VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards or debit cards are accepted for payment.
Please be sure to bring your insurance card. We accept the following:

Medicaid information is available at the Department of Social Services or the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Payment & Proof of Income
If you have Medicaid or another health insurance, please bring your insurance card with you.
If you have no health insurance, you can apply for our sliding fee scale which is based on income and family size. To apply for the sliding fee scale, please bring proof of income for your household. We accept paycheck stubs, a letter from the employer stating hours worked and wages, or last year's income tax form. Until we receive this information, we will charge the full amount for our service.
Non-Discrimination Policy
It is the policy of Henderson County Department of Public Health to provide services and benefits to those individuals who are entitled to receive them without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation or gender identity on a voluntary basis. Refusal of a service or inability to pay for a particular service does not result in the denial of any clinical service or benefits of the agency.
