Henderson County Farmland Preservation
Henderson County has been working towards the creation of a County Farmland Preservation Program, following the creation of the Farmland Preservation Taskforce in April 2024. Please continue reading for Farmland Preservation updates and to learn more about how you can preserve your farmland and continue supporting agriculture in Henderson County.
Current News:
Henderson County applied for the NC Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund's Agricultural Growth Zone (AGZ) grant in January 2025. County staff, including the Planning Department, Soil & Water Conservation District, and NC Cooperative Extension, were interviewed by the NC ADFPTF grant team in April to discuss the County's grant application further.
