Well Permitting

A well permit is needed prior to:

• Drilling a new well
• Repairing an existing well
• Abandoning a well

Applications for private drinking water well permits may be submitted through the Online Public Portal or in person at the Environmental Health Department.

The permitting process allows the Health Department to ensure wells are properly located, constructed, and repaired, so that water quality and public health are protected.
