Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening

breast and cervical cancer screening

We partner with the North Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) to provide free or low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings to uninsured or underinsured women who do not have Medicare Part B or Medicaid.

Breast Cancer Screening

Includes clinical breast exams, mammograms, and other diagnostic procedures as indicated. Women eligible for screening should be between the ages of 40-64, have a household income at or below 250 percent of the federal poverty level, and be uninsured. Symptomatic women under 40 years old or over 64 may also be eligible for screening.

Cervical Cancer Screening

Includes pelvic exams, Pap tests, colposcopies, and biopsies. Women eligible for cervical cancer screening should be between the ages of 21-64, have a household income at or below 250 percent of the federal poverty level, and be uninsured. All women up to age 75 who are underinsured or uninsured and below 250 percent of the federal poverty guidelines may be eligible for screening services.

Women who are enrolled in BCCCP prior to diagnosis of breast or cervical cancer may be eligible to receive Breast and Cervical Cancer Medicaid to cover treatments and surgeries.
