Back to School Vaccine Clinics

The Henderson County Department of Public Health is hosting after-school vaccine clinics to help all students ages 5 to 18 get caught up on required school immunizations.

Details 

• Dates: August 6; September 8 and 9
• Time: 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Location: Henderson County Health Department, 1200 Spartanburg Highway, Hendersonville
• Appointments: Not required. Walk-ins only, first-come, first-served.

Who should come?

Students ages 5–18 who need any required North Carolina school immunizations or are missing doses.

What to bring?

• An insurance or Medicaid card for your child
• Immunization record if your child received vaccines outside North Carolina
• A photo ID for the parent or guardian, if available

Cost

• We bill insurance or Medicaid when available.
• No insurance? Eligible children can receive vaccines at no cost through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program.

Vaccines Available

All vaccines required for North Carolina public school attendance will be available.

Depending on your child’s age and vaccination history, required vaccines may include:

• DTaP
• Polio
• MMR
• Hepatitis B
• Varicella, or chickenpox
• Tdap
• Meningococcal conjugate
• Hib and pneumococcal conjugate vaccines for some younger children

What to expect?

• Families will be checked in and seen in order of arrival.
• A nurse will review your child’s vaccine record and discuss which vaccines are due.
• The clinic location is accessible through the Immunizations Entrance.
• Language assistance is available upon request. Please let staff know when you arrive.
