America 250
Henderson County has joined other North Carolina counties participating in the America 250 NC program. The program marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of America’s Declaration of Independence and will be celebrated nationally, as well.
The U. S. Semi-quincentennial Commission is a nonpartisan organization that was established by the U. S. Congress in 2016 to plan this monumental event.
In North Carolina, the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is heading up the initiative. For information about celebrations statewide visit the America 250 NC website.
Henderson County is planning all day event on Saturday, July 4, 2026 that includes live music, a ceremony recognizing the 250th anniversary, and the day will be capped off with an amazing fireworks display at 9:30pm. This is a community-wide celebration with multiple coordinating partners.
