Henderson County Emergency Updates
NORTH CAROLINA FOREST SERVICE TO LIFT BURN BAN IN 81 OF 100 N.C. COUNTIES, INCLUDING HENDERSON COUNTY
A message from Henderon County Fire Marshal Glen Gillette
Due to recent precipitation, greening up of forest vegetation and improving humidity levels the burn ban for Henderson County that was issued on March 28, 2026, will be lifted effective May 3, 2026, at 8:00 A.M.
Although the burn ban will be lifted, we ask everyone to be careful while burning, considering weather and wind conditions. When burning brush or other natural vegetation a burn permit issued by the North Carolina Forest Service is required. Burning of trash, construction materials, or anything other than natural vegetation is always prohibited.
Thank you for your cooperation and consideration throughout the recent burn ban.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the Fire Marshals Office at 697-4728.
