Computing Support Technician II
Duties and Responsibilities: This position is responsible for performing a variety of activities in support of administrative operations. Performs the responsible technical work necessary to maintain integrity and continued operation of personal computers and related peripheral equipment. Work involves the installation of software and hardware on personal computers including the setup of new equipment and the training and support of end users. Primary Security Officer for all State systems. Reports to Administrative Officer.
Qualifications: General knowledge of repair and maintenance of personal computers and related equipment; general knowledge of operation and capabilities of hardware and software applications; ability to effectively train end users; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle; ability to attend work regularly; excellent interpersonal skills required.
Minimum Training and Experience: Graduation from high school and four years of experience in the use of computing and information technology resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. (Specific knowledge of the particular software or systems supported may be required)
Pre-employment drug test, background checks and SBI Fingerprinting required of final applicants.
