The following checklist will assist you in preparing to apply for a Building Permit in Henderson County.
Residential Building Permit/Plan Review Submittal Requirements for Dwellings, Additions & Remodels
General Submittal Requirements
- Completed Residential Building Permit Application (Paper application not required if submitting through the portal)
- County Zoning Permit or zoning permit from your municipality. Fees are determined by each municipality.
- Watershed Permit (If applicable)
- Erosion/Stormwater Permit (if applicable) Dept: Site Development
- Authorization to Construct Approval on septic permit (if applicable) from Environmental Health **Contact 694-6060
- Water & Sewer Tap Receipts (If applicable): Contact Hendersonville Water & Sewer Dept. at 697-3052
- 1 set of construction plans (Remodel projects involving, but not limited to adding bedrooms, finishing basement, entire house remodel requires plan submittal)
- Appointment of NC Registered Lien Agent is required prior to issuance of building permit. Click here
**For property that has been purchased within the last 30 days, a recorded copy of the warranty deed is required.
