Public Hearing - Henderson County Emergency Management - Hurricane Helene Infrastructure Projects

The County of Henderson, North Carolina (the “County”) will hold a Public Hearing during a regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners (“Board”) meeting on September 8, 2026, at 5:30pm. At its August 19, 2026, meeting, the Board adopted a resolution which authorized Henderson County Emergency Management to apply for community infrastructure grant opportunities to support the recovery and rebuilding of the County after Hurricane Helene.

Public engagement is a required component of many of these grant opportunities. Community input will help identify additional project ideas, refine project proposals, and strengthen the County’s applications. The public comment period is open from August 26 – September 10, 2026. Residents can plan to speak at the Board meeting on the 8th of September or submit comments in writing to the Response and Recovery Director at nspollard@hendersoncountync.gov, by phone at 828-696-0124, or in writing to the attention of Henderson County Emergency Management, c/o Community Grant Infrastructure, 2529 Asheville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28791. Please include in any communication: “Community Infrastructure Grant Comments”. Any comments submitted are official public record.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that pursuant to Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations §570.486(a) on September 8, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Henderson County Historic Courthouse, 1 Historic Courthouse Square, Hendersonville, North Carolina, a public hearing will be conducted concerning the proposed applications for community infrastructure grants. All interested parties are invited to present comments thereon at the public hearing.
