Administrative Assistant I - Department of Social Services
Duties and Responsibilities: This position assists the Income Maintenance Program Administrator, Program Managers and Supervisors by independently carrying out the program’s administrative activities including gathering, analyzing, editing , and reporting different program information to better determine staffing needs, caseloads, developing forms and records to digital format; serves as the Income Maintenance NCFast Security Officer, conducts and tracks staff security trainings, manages security auditing and reporting to State; is responsible for the maintenance identification and creation of monthly and quarterly reports; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Knowledge of the program/areas of assignment; general knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant; good mathematical reasoning and computational skills; ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations and procedures; ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Completion of high school or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, or office management experience; or completion of two year secretarial science or business administration program and two years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, or office management experience; or completion of a four year program in a college or university preferably with major emphasis on coursework in business administration, public administration, or other related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Experience: Training and experience in computerized data entry, proficiency in Microsoft Office , statistical compilation and reporting, customer service, interpersonal communications, business letter writing and business offices practices is highly desired. Education and/or experience in human services are preferred.
