Behavioral Health System Coordinator

(Human Services Planner III)

Description:

The Henderson County Department of Public Health is accepting applications for one full-time Human Services Planner III position (working title: Behavioral Health System Coordinator). The primary purpose of this position is to support and coordinate a community coalition addressing behavioral health (mental health and substance use) in Henderson County. This position serves as the lead for planning and facilitating meetings of the coalition, directing strategic planning with community partners, collaborating with others to implement evidenced-based strategies, analyzing behavioral health data, conducting program evaluation, and ensuring quality assurance.

 

Schedule:

Typical work week is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with some extended hours (that may include weekends and holidays) to meet agency, and/or public health response needs.

Qualifications:

Considerable knowledge of human services administration and community planning concepts, and of human service programs and supportive services in the functional areas to which assigned, specifically in the areas of mental health and substance use. Ability to provide guidance to state and local management in planning new or improved programs, and to communicate effectively with professional and administrative personnel.

 

Required Minimum Training and Experience:  

A master’s degree in public or human service administration or a human services programmatic field, preferably with course work in human services planning, and two years of human service experience, one of which must have been in human service program planning; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of progressive administrative or consultative experience in human service program, one of which must have been in human service program planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Grade:  77A            Anticipated Annual Hiring salary range$54,815 - $70,809            Benefit Eligible

(Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.)
