Human Resources Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities: This position Administers leave requests requiring specialized attention including but not limited to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), general leave, and military leave, accommodations, and supports other HR department needs as required or requested. This position also performs intermediate clerical and administrative support duties to assist with other personnel administration for the County; performs related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision.
Qualifications: General knowledge of office practices and procedures; general knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, and regulations; general knowledge of FMLA, leave of absences, accommodations, general human resources, payroll processes; general knowledge of organization of county government; excellent knowledge of computers, various software applications, and other required office equipment; ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to attend work regularly; excellent interpersonal skills and confidentiality. Strong working knowledge of MS Office products.
Special Requirements: Ability to obtain commission within one (1) year of employment as a North Carolina Notary Public preferred.
