One (1) Full-Time Maintenance Technician II

Facilities Services

Duties and Responsibilities:  Performs a variety of intermediate semiskilled and skilled work in the maintenance of County buildings, grounds, and facilities; performs semiskilled and skilled building trades such as carpentry, construction, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair, and remodeling of County facilities; performs related work as required.  Work is performed under regular supervision.  Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, tools, and equipment used in all phases of facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair and remodeling of buildings and equipment; thorough  knowledge of principles of construction and building codes; thorough knowledge of HVAC, HVAC controls, and building automation system maintenance and repair; thorough knowledge of international mechanical, building and electrical codes; EPA certification required; skilled in the use of tools and equipment in general maintenance work; ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle, construction equipment (loaders, skid steer, bucket truck); ability to attend work regularly.    

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in construction or building maintenance trades and experience in the use of hand and power tools, as well as instruments required to perform assigned duties.

Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license required. 

Class A CDL required or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
