Auxiliary Administrative Assistant
(Less than 1,000 hours in a 12-month period - not benefit-eligible)
Duties and Responsibilities: This position provides vital support to the governance, financial, and operational functions of the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority (HCTDA). This part-time position is essential for coordinating board meeting materials, notices and minutes: managing financial documentation, maintaining vendor relationships, and liaising with county departments. A strong sense of hospitality, administrative skills, attention to detail, and adaptability are key for success in this multifaceted role.
Qualifications: Strong service mindset with a “Heart for Hospitality” and commitment to HCTDA’s mission; excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of board governance processes and NC Open Meeting Law; high level of organization and the ability to prioritize and handle confidential materials responsibly; proficiency in MUNIS, WORKS, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and FacilityDude; understanding of basic financial processes, contract workflows, and public sector administration; commitment to using emerging tools (such as ChatGPT) to support efficiency and innovation; exceptional attention to detail, proofreading, and task completion.
