Henderson County Eco Heroes Award Program

On June 1st, 2020, the Henderson County Board of Commissioners voted to start the Henderson County Eco Heroes Awards program managed by the Environmental Advisory Committee.

Through the annual Henderson Eco Heroes Awards Program, the Henderson County Environmental Advisory Committee will recognize up to six individuals annually in Henderson County that demonstrate actions of sound environmental practice.

The goals for the program are to honor individuals who can serve as an example and inspire others to preserve the environmental health of the County. The Committee hopes that this award will provide opportunities to bring environmental awareness to new people and demonstrate that a healthy environment improves the quality of life for all people. 

Who is eligible? Anyone who lives or works in Henderson County, who goes above and beyond to exhibit sound environmental practices. Individuals can not be nominated for activities for which they are employed.  

Who can nominate? Any individual of Henderson County can nominate other individuals for this award.

When can I nominate? Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
