Data Records Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs clerical work in processing forms and records in the Records Unit of the Sheriff's Office. Performs related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision. Reports to the Records Operations Supervisor.
Qualifications: Some knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; some knowledge of laws and ordinances, and of departmental and county policies and procedures; skilled in the operation of office machinery; ability to summarize, compile, and tabulate narrative and numerical material; ability to compile reports from information gathered; ability to keyboard with accuracy at a moderate rate of speed; thorough knowledge of RMS and Ewarrants; advanced knowledge of Windows based computers, Windows Office Suite, and data entry skills; must be able to tactfully and diplomatically communicate with supervisors, co-workers, other law enforcement agencies, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities; thorough knowledge of state and federal offense codes with the National Incident Based Reporting Systems (NIBRS); ability to attend work regularly.
Required Minimum Training and Experience: Attend and maintain certification as North Carolina Division of Criminal Information (DCI) Network Operator; NC Public Records Law class; Must attend all In-Service required by the North Carolina Sheriff's Training and Standards Commission and Henderson County.
Pre-employment drug test, SBI Fingerprinting and background checks required of finalist applicants.
