Maintenance Technician II

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs semiskilled and skilled building trades such as carpentry, construction, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair, and remodeling of County facilities. Performs a variety of intermediate semiskilled and skilled work in the maintenance of County buildings, grounds, and facilities; performs related work as required.  Work is performed under regular supervision.  Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, tools, and equipment used in all phases of facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair and remodeling of buildings and equipment. Thorough knowledge in principles of construction and building codes. Thorough knowledge of HVAC, HVAC controls, and building automation system maintenance and repair. Thorough knowledge of International mechanical, building and electrical codes. Skilled in the use of tools and equipment for general maintenance work. Ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle, construction equipment (loaders, skid steer, bucket truck). Ability to attend work regularly.
