The Henderson County Erosion Control Local Program is led by Deb Johnston PE.

Essential Departmental Functions:

We provide services for the Local Erosion Control Program for the following municipalities: Town of Laurel Park, Town of Fletcher, Village of Flat Rock, and City of Hendersonville. 

Staff reviews the development plans for proposed projects, inspects current projects under development, and investigates complaints regarding current land-disturbing activities.

If the proposed development has any Local, State, or Federal Funds associated, or located in the Town of Mills River Jurisdictional Boundaries the authority having jurisdiction is the Asheville Regional Office of the Department of Environmental Quality.  They can be reached at (828) 296-4500, Stan Aiken is the Office Regional Engineer in Charge.

The Site Development Engineer or his/her designee is a voting member on the Technical Review Committee.
