Hiring Process Information

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.  We have developed a fair and consistent selection and hiring process that ensures prospective employees possess the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and ethics to become a productive member of our team and represent our agency.

The hiring process contains several steps and can take up to four months to complete.  This process is designed to thoroughly examine each applicant’s abilities and interest in employment with our agency.  Integrity and honesty are carefully scrutinized during all stages of the hiring process and deception or dishonesty at any time will result in immediate elimination from further consideration.

We accept applications on an ongoing basis.  Once received, applications will be kept on file and active for a period of 180 days.  When a process is started to fill openings in an entry level position, candidates who meet the qualifications and have expressed an interest in that position will be contacted regarding their participation.  Areas that we currently have open positions and are actively seeking applicants for at this time are listed below:

  • Sworn Officer
  • Detention Officer 
  • Telecommunicator - 911 Center
