Auxiliary Computer Support Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: This position Serves as IT help desk attendant; answers phone/e-mail requests for assistance; resolves problems remotely if possible; escalates complex problems to appropriate support tier as necessary. Assists in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software and providing instruction to end users on the proper use of computer equipment. This position also Performs the responsible technical work necessary to maintain the integrity and continued operation of County personal computers and related peripheral equipment. Work involves the installation of software and hardware on personal computers including the setup of new equipment, and the training and support of end users. Work is performed under regular supervision.  Reports to the Assistant Information Technology Director.

 

Qualifications:  General knowledge of repair and maintenance of personal computers and related equipment; general knowledge of operation and capabilities of hardware and software applications; ability to effectively train end users; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle; ability to attend work regularly; excellent interpersonal skills required.

Salary Range:   $18.26 - $31.28
          

Hiring salary will be determined based on qualifications and internal equity
