Auxiliary Maintenance Technician II

(Less than 1000 hours in a 12- month period – not benefit-eligible)

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs semiskilled and skilled building trades such as carpentry, construction, painting, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work for the maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair, and remodeling of County facilities. Performs a variety of intermediate semiskilled and skilled work in the maintenance of County buildings, grounds, and facilities; performs related work as required.  Work is performed under regular supervision.  Reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications:  Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, tools, and equipment used in all phases of facility maintenance, preventive maintenance, repair, and remodeling of buildings and equipment; thorough knowledge of principles of construction and building codes; thorough knowledge of HVAC, HVAC controls, and building automation system maintenance and repair; thorough knowledge of international mechanical, building and electrical codes; EPA certification required; skilled in the use of tools and equipment in general maintenance work; ability to safely and efficiently operate a motor vehicle, construction equipment (loaders, skid steer, bucket truck); ability to attend work regularly.
